What a great  time we had in Beaufort this week with Smokin’ Joe Frazier.

City Loft Hotel and City Java & News are proud to have been able to host the champ for the past two days, which culminated with a wonderful autograph session this morning.

It was great to see so many people come out to show their respect for the Beaufort native, who received the Order of the Palmetto on Monday.

City Java & News, located within City Loft Hotel in Historic Beaufort, South Carolina, is excited to announce that it will host “A cup of Joe with Joe (Frazier)” from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 28.

Burton native Smokin’ Joe Frazier will be in Beaufort to receive the Order of the Palmetto – the highest honor bestowed by the State of South Carolina – from Gov. Mark Sanford.

Frazier is a former Olympic and World Heavyweight boxing champion. He was born in Burton on Jan. 12, 1944.

Frazier will be available to sign autographs and for photos ops during the Tuesday morning session at City Java & News – 301 Carteret Street.

“We are extremely excited to be hosting Mr. Frazier,” said Matt McAlhaney, owner of City Java & News and City Loft Hotel. “We know Beaufort will give the champ a warm homecoming.”
