If you’re coming down for any of it, we’ll bet your night would be twice as fun if you added a dinner at one of downtown’s gourmet restaurants and topped it off with a stay at our boutique hotel in the heart of this historic district.
The council’s members have come here to learn from each other and hear about what Beaufort is doing in the hospitality and tourism industries, and we can’t think of a better place for them to stay than here at City Loft Hotel where we incorporate both.
We know they’ll find a lot of wonderful things in Beaufort to bring back to their home schools with them, and we know they’ll also bring back the wonderful time they had with us at City Loft, and the wonderful drinks and treats they got to try down at City Java.
Again, we think they’ll find that that City Loft is one of the most unique Beaufort SC hotels.

So here’s our last word on Joe Frazier staying with us at City Loft Hotel last week.
It was an incredible experience for all us, and we were so happy to hear that the champ enjoyed his stay.
From what we hear he usually wakes up very early, like around 4 in the morning, but slept past 7 when he stayed with us.
“I can’t remember when I slept that long, I wanna take that bed home with me,” Frazier told our hotel staff.
Again, it was a honor to host the champ and Larry Holmes. They know they’re welcome back any time.
City Java & News, located within City Loft Hotel in Historic Beaufort, South Carolina, is excited to announce that it will host “A cup of Joe with Joe (Frazier)” from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, September 28.
Burton native Smokin’ Joe Frazier will be in Beaufort to receive the Order of the Palmetto – the highest honor bestowed by the State of South Carolina – from Gov. Mark Sanford.
Frazier is a former Olympic and World Heavyweight boxing champion. He was born in Burton on Jan. 12, 1944.
“We are extremely excited to be hosting Mr. Frazier,” said Matt McAlhaney, owner of City Java & News and City Loft Hotel. “We know Beaufort will give the champ a warm homecoming.”
And that’s just the beginning. We of course have our weekly farmers markets, and if you just want to enjoy a great meal and take in a little relaxation, you know we can help you with that, too.
So give us a holler, and let us know we can make your stay in Beaufort all that it can be.
The hotel was included in the “Where to Stay” section of the article.
Here’s what it said:
They’ve turned a two-story motel into a boutique hotel with Memory Foam beds, iPod lamps and flat screen televisions for a distinctive urban feel. Within walking distance of historic downtown area and The Point, a lovely area of restored historic homes.
We are proud to have been included in the piece and excited about what it will mean not only for City Loft but for all of Beaufort.
Seems more and more people are learning about just how special Beaufort is.
We talk a lot about what’s going on at the hotel and how you can do great things like bring your dog or go for fit walks or get room service from a number of nearby fantastic restaurants, but sometimes you just gotta let the rooms speak for themselves.
And yes, it is time you took an impromptu night off for yourself.
King Size beds are standard in every room -- with memory foam tops.
In the bathrooms there a big bathtub, stand up shower, guest robes, and LCD T.V.
So if you want to partake in one of those, or just want to spend one of the last summer weekends we have at the beach and enjoy a wonderful meal, give us a call and we’ll take care of you.
All of these opportunities is what makes City Loft Hotel one of the most unique Beaufort SC Hotels.
