Hunting Island State Park SC:
Hunting Island is South Carolina's single most popular state park, attracting more than a million human visitors a year. What they all enjoy is five miles of beach, thousands of acres of marsh, tidal creeks and maritime forest, a saltwater lagoon and ocean inlet. John Mark Verdier House Museum
Built in the 1790s by a prosperous merchant. In 1825, the Marquis de Lafayette was a guest here. This Federal-style home was taken over by Union officers as their headquarters during the Civil War. The museum is located just around the corner from our Beaufort SC hotel.
